are musically illustrated using 21 example songs (written by me)
that are included with the eBook and can be played by clicking links in
the text.
A chord chart and lyric sheet are
provided for each song (also via links in the text) so that you can learn to play along
if you wish and even (gasp)
steal some of the ideas to use in your own songs!
Cheap Advice On Songwriting
is divided into five chapters:

Starting Ideas For Lyrics

choruses, bridges, and even within individual lines.

With the Full Edition you get all of this, 60 tips (on 100+ pages) plus 21

it.
OK, does this sound good like a good deal?
Before you decide, use this link to download the
Two-Tip
Sample Edition of Cheap Advice On Songwriting.
This edition contains the Author Information and Introduction
sections from the Full Edition, but contains only 2 tips instead
of 60 and only 2 songs instead of 21. It is
delivered as a zip file, just like the full version.
You might want to check out the songwriting articles on my
website,
Cheap Advice On Music. Just scroll down to the "Songwriting" section of the sidebar. Please note that the tips in this eBook are not found on the website, other than as brief Mini-Tips
that summarize ideas discussed at greater length in the eBook. (The articles on the website tend to be
on more general topics.)
Now, I'm just about positive that you will get a kick out of this
book and that it will have you writing songs you never would have
written without it. But who knows? It could be different for
you. So, if you download the book but then decide you haven't
received your money's worth, just let me know. Your money will be
cheerfully refunded, as they used to say on TV!

Cheap Advice On
Songwriting comes in two editions: the Full Edition and the
Online mp3 Edition.
The Full Edition comes in a large
(58 MB) download file and includes 21 mp3 files for the example
songs in addition to RTF files (WordPad format) containing chord charts
and lyric sheets for all of the songs.
The Online mp3 Edition
is the same, except that the mp3 files are not included, making the
download file much smaller (0.62 MB). Clicking the mp3
links in the eBook will access online copies of the songs. (You must
be connected to the Internet to access the songs.)
The eBook itself is in PDF
format and requires Adobe
Acrobat (a free program that you probably already have) to read it.

What
have you got to lose?
Don't take my word for it!
Here's what reviewer Ed Teja (CourtTV, Discovery Channel)
had to say in the Muse's
Muse Songwriting Newsletter for February 2009:
A lot of songwriting books are by famous songwriters and are
intended to teach you how to write famous songs—hit songs. They
approach the subject with either a "how I do it" or "how all of
us successful songwriters do it" that packages the collective
wisdom of the famous songwriter and friends. There is great merit
in those books, especially if your intent is to write hit songs
and compete in the day to day music business. This ebook doesn't
use that kind of approach at all. Instead, Bendig assumes that
you want to write songs, probably are writing them already, and
just want to write more, better, and more diverse songs, without
keeping an eye on the Billboard charts. So it is a book of tips
that spur you into increased creativity...
Many of the tips you'll find here are common sense, some are
reassuring, and some could provide some real insight into your
own songwriting. Which are which, will depend on you and your
background and goals. One of the compelling things about this
book is that it encourages experimentation. Congratulations to
Bendig for keeping songwriting fun, rather than a too serious
chore.

The Cheap Advice Guy is
actually me, Mark Bendig. I live in Columbus, Ohio, and
have been writing and recording my own songs since the
60s. In this eBook, I pass along some of the songwriting
techniques and approaches that I have adopted over the
years. I believe that they will be of benefit to others,
even those who have already written many songs! |
